Exodus: Journey to the Promise
Exodus is the story of:
- God rescuing a people.
- God forming a people.
- God dwelling with a people.
Big Idea: Before God asks His people to trust Him, He rescues them.

Getting Egypt out of Israel took forty years.
"God didn't rescue Israel so they could leave Egypt. He rescued them so they could become His people."
"God hasn't brought us this far just to move us into another building. He's bringing us into a new season so He can continue making us into the people He has called us to be."
Three-Day Devotional
Day 1 – Grace Comes First
Read: Exodus 12:1–14
Israel couldn't rescue themselves from slavery. God took the first step. He provided the lamb, gave clear instructions, and made a way for His people to be saved. Before God asked Israel to obey His law, He rescued them by His grace.
The same is true for us. We don't earn God's love by being good enough. Jesus became our perfect Passover Lamb so that everyone who trusts Him can receive forgiveness and new life.

God's grace always comes before our obedience.
Reflect:
Are you trying to earn God's approval, or are you resting in what Jesus has already done for you?
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for doing what I could never do for myself. Help me live each day from Your grace instead of trying to earn Your love.
Day 2 – God Still Makes a Way
Read: Exodus 14:13–31
The Israelites had just been rescued, but they quickly found themselves trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh's army. What looked impossible to them was another opportunity for God to show His power.
Sometimes following God doesn't remove every obstacle. Instead, He meets us in the middle of them. The God who saves us is also the God who leads us.

The God who rescues you will also lead you.
Reflect:
Where do you feel trapped today? How can you trust God to make a way, even if you can't see it yet?
Prayer:
Father, when I don't know what to do, help me remember that You are fighting for me and leading me every step of the way.
Day 3 – Freedom Is More Than Leaving Slavery
Read: Exodus 15:22–27
Crossing the Red Sea wasn't the end of Israel's journey. It was only the beginning. God wanted more than to bring His people out of Egypt—He wanted to change their hearts.
God is doing the same work in us. Salvation happens in a moment, but spiritual growth happens over a lifetime. Every day, God is shaping us to become more like Jesus.

God didn't just save you from something. He saved you for something.
