Small Group Questions

1. Where is God asking you to be “Spirit-filled bold” with your voice this week? Name one person and one sentence you could actually say.

2. Where is God asking you to be “Spirit-filled bold” with your hands this week? What is one concrete action you will take in the next 72 hours?

3. In Acts 2, Peter moves from explaining → Jesus → response. When you share faith, which step do you usually skip, and why?

4. In Acts 3, Peter and John are on their way to prayer when compassion interrupts. What “holy interruption” do you typically resist (inconvenience, fear, skepticism, compassion fatigue)?

5. The crowd’s attention is captured by both a sermon (Acts 2) and a healing (Acts 3). What would it look like for your words and works to match so people can “see” Jesus clearly?

3-day devotional: Spirit-filled boldness in words and works

Day 1 — Spirit-filled boldness speaks clearly

Read: Acts 2:14–21
Notice: Peter doesn’t react to mockery—he roots the moment in Scripture and God’s promise.
Reflect: Where am I letting fear of people keep me quiet or vague?
Pray: “Holy Spirit, give me clarity and courage to speak truth with love. Help me explain hope, not just opinions.”
Practice (5 minutes): Write a simple, one-sentence gospel statement you can say naturally:
- “Jesus is alive, He’s Lord, and He’s inviting you to turn to Him for forgiveness and new life.”
- Then ask: Who needs to hear that this week?

Day 2 — Spirit-filled boldness names Jesus and invites response

Read: Acts 2:22–41
Notice: Peter is specific about Jesus and unafraid to invite repentance and trust.
Reflect: What part of the message do I soften—sin, the cross, repentance, lordship, or the promise of forgiveness?
Pray: “Jesus, make me more faithful than fearful. Give me love that tells the truth and hope that invites a next step.”
Practice (one step): Initiate one spiritual conversation (text or in person):
- “Can I share something that’s been helping me lately?"
- “Would you be open to reading a short passage with me sometime?”

Day 3 — Spirit-filled boldness serves with compassion in Jesus’ name

Read: Acts 3:1–10
Notice: They notice, engage, give what they have, and act—then God uses it publicly.
Reflect: Who is my “gate” person—someone I routinely pass by? What keeps me from stopping
Pray: “Holy Spirit, give me eyes to notice, courage to get close, and love that restores dignity. Use my compassion to point to Jesus.”
Practice (within 24 hours): Do one specific act of compassion that includes both help and humble witness. Examples:
- Meet a tangible need + offer prayer: “Can I pray for you right now?”
- Serve someone + name Jesus simply: “I’m doing this because Jesus has been kind to me.”
- Help someone take a next step toward community (ride, invitation, introduction).
