12 Jun Daily Devotion – June 12
Day 163 – June 12
It’s not about me
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
One of the most difficult things to embrace as a follower of Jesus is that God doesn’t need my skills, He just needs my obedience. In other words, I don’t have to bring the “awesome.” I have to bring the daily sacrifice of my life, open and obedient to what God has for me to do today and every day. He will bring the “awesome.” Acts 4 is an amazing passage because it deals with the Sanhedrin, a group of high ranking religious leaders that were highly educated and trained. They witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit through Peter and John. Like many of us, the religious leaders thought only the elite could be used by God and these “idiots” certainly couldn’t be used in this way. There is not a single person who has trusted Jesus as savior that cannot be greatly used by God. It’s simply a matter of perspective and reliance on His power while trusting His plan and process. That is certainly easier said than done! Proverbs 16:9 is a great reminder for us. “The heart of a man plans His way, but the LORD establishes his steps.”
Friend, let the world be in awe of the greatness of our God by submitting to His will and His plan for your life and watching Him do more than you can imagine. Let go of what you’ve held onto and watch God work like never before!
We’re more than conquerors in Christ!
